Has anyone else had problems the last couple days with images from tumblr failing to load as part of their feed? On both the newsblur web site and iOS app, most (I’d say 80% or so) of tumblr posts are now showing broken image links. They always work if I open the story on tumblr, but there’s no way I’m doing that for every individual tumblr post.
I tried manually loading some of the image URLs, and got a page that said “We’re sorry. Service is temporarily unavailable. Our engineers are working quickly to resolve the issue.”
So I suspect tumblr has implemented some sort of referer-based blocking or rate-limiting. I tried sending a support request to tumblr earlier, but haven’t heard back from them, but maybe somebody else has come up with some other solution?

Got an example newsblur.com/site/feed_id url? I checked my Tumblr sites and they are all working fine for images.
One example is http://newsblur.com/site/3588617/hunkopedia (probably NSFW, BTW, because this is tumblr after all). If I switch to “all stories/newest first” the first 20 or so load, but everything older (Sunday evening and earlier) is coming up as a broken image (and I suspect the newer ones may load mostly from opening the blog in tumblr first so I’ve got locally cached copies).
Looks fine to me. I bet you’re on https and these images are loading from http. It’s called mixed content and Chrome bans it by default. You can either switch to http://www.newsblur.com (and make sure to turn off SSL in NewsBlur Preferences) or turn off mixed content warnings: http://thehackernews.com/2015/04/disable-mixed-content-warning.html
I haven’t heard back from tumblr support, but the problem seems to have fixed itself as of last night for me, so I’m guessing they tweaked something on their end.
