Hi! I’m a new user here, and I’d like to be able to take advantage of the filter ability that Newsblur has. Specifically, I’d like to be able to create a feed from 5-7 news sources via RSS, and use the training to push up what I’m interested in, say: Sports (and this would extend across all the news sources) and, more importantly, remove articles that doesn’t interest me. Firstly, how long does training take? Secondly, is it even possible to remove articles from news sources like BBC that I’m not interested in? And if I need to buy a subscription, would it be worth it for a college student?
Hi, all training is done via explicit classifiers. You can read more about training at the FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions. I just released a huge training update to include even more classifiers you can train on (urls, full text, regex pattern matching on titles/text/url): Intelligence Trainer Overhaul: URL classifiers, regex mode, and manage all training in one place | The NewsBlur Blog
