The share sheet shows as a 4x3 grid, rather than the more traditional ios7 share sheet with airdrop on top, then two rows of scrolling icons. I uninstalled once and the correct screen showed after reinstall. It has since broken again and a reinstall didn’t fix it this time.

The 4×3 grid is the new share sheet. It’s not broken, it’s OvershareKit.
The old way (the iOS 7 sharing sheet with a bunch of sharing services of varying and sometimes atrocious quality) was a usability disaster; if you’re seeing it then you’re using an old version of the NewsBlur iOS app.
