The instance is installed on raspberrypi (Debian GNU/Linux 12 64bit / Linux 6.1.0-rpi8-rpi-v8)
The search is not working, what could be the reason?
That’s a good question! Check your docker logs (make log) and see what elasticsearch says. It might say something about resources. Also check docker ps to see if search is even running.

Try running docker exec -it newsblur_web ./manage.py index_stories -R to reindex stories. Does that give you a number of stories indexed?

After I did that, the search started working.
Glad to hear it. It should have auto-indexed everything the first time you searched but I wonder why it didn’t. If you want to help me test that theory, go into the shell with docker exec -it newsblur_web ./manage.py shell_plus and run: MUserSearch.remove_all(). Then reload the web page and try searching. That should work the exact same. Let me know either way. And if it doesn’t work, you can always use the manual index_stories step.
After I have done all the manipulations that you have written, the search continues to work.
But what should I do now? What was the problem? And how can this be avoided in the future?
No idea but I’m glad that worked. I hope if other users have this issue, they’ll see this thread (and post letting me know!)
