I figured someone else would have reported this but Search within a feed is broken. You can easily test this by searching for gibberish or even a real word that you know is unlikely to be in a feed. Basically, nothing gets filtered. You still see all the items in the feed.
On a related note, it would be very helpful to search only titles. And also for the search field to support searching for phrases when placed in quotes — for example “Microsoft Word” It seems like there should be some open source project at this point that would modernize NewsBlur search.
Hi… I’m seeing the opposite problem in Search now: if I search on a word that I know appears in an article title in a feed, the search returns no stories at all. This happens for every individual feed and for feed folders. (This happens both in Firefox and Chrome on Windows.)
I’m sorry but I won’t be able to fix the search server until Tuesday. I’m traveling for a wedding and am flying back tomorrow. This is priority number one and I know exactly what needs to be done, but it’ll take a few hours to do.
Ok, search is back online. I’m going to have to reset the search index since there’s now a three day gap in stories. But that’ll be handy since I’m moving servers anyhow to get more storage.
Search remains broken in the iPad app and the web app. No results. Also, there’s no visible search box anymore in the iPad app. It’s there but not obvious. Are you testing your fixes?
I tested the fix on the web. If it’s broken on iPad, that’s a different story. I just tested on iphone and it works fine. Does your query also fail on the web?
I think it’s an indexing issue. It worked on some other feeds. I think you mentioned something about indexing. The invisible search bar in the iPad app looks like it was fixed. Thanks.
