I am a long time Reader user but a new (paid) Newsblur user, and as such I don’t know what to expect. That said, performance is abysmally/unusably slow. When I click on a feed in the left pane, the feed pane on the right takes many minutes to become non-blank, if it ever even updates at all. Performance issues aren’t isolated to the web: I just downloaded the iphone app and it is stuck Authenticating. Is this a general site problem due to the massive influx of new users, or is it just my account that’s wedged? Thanks.
General site, I think. It’s almost always been speedy (just a second or two to load a folder of stuff, usually less) but today it’s being r-e-a-l-l-y slow for me, as well.
I’ve been a very happy Newsblur user since the end of December. What you are seeing really is down to the current GReader exodus.
(and I’m still a happy Newsblur user despite the current temporary situation).
Yep, things are normally very snappy in the web UI, but have slowed to a crawl since GOOG announced the demise of Reader. The @NewsBlur twitter account has been announcing progress on scaling up to meet demand - sounds like things should be back to full speed within a week or two.
Hi Ray, I think the best is yet to be shown. You should try http://dev.newsblur.com its faster and has additional features from google reader.
