Navigating to next article with 'j' sometimes goes down 2 articles instead of 1

I like to navigate feeds using ‘j’ and shift-j but sometimes, the ‘j’ key skips 2 articles instead of 1.

Using latest Chrome stable on Mac OS 10.8.2
