Native MacOS app - story list leaves a space after all stories read

After reading all stories for a particular site, a blank space is left in the story list on the left. I have my sites sorted into different folders. Using the refresh button at the top will correct the list.

These are my folder list settings, in case they matter at all:

I am currently using Version 13.1.2 (274)
