Have an option to keep the ‘negative’ unread count dimmed (or totally invisible, even). Typically sending items to the negative filter as I’m sick of hearing about them, hence not particularly urgent that I know something’s in there.

Changing the intelligence filter to “Unread” should do that, with the little yellow circle at the bottom of the feed list.
This has just shipped. You should no longer have to see the red unread count, except in the feed itself.
