"Mark older as read" wipes out too much

If the feed shows:
A
B
C
D

And I do mark older as read on B then C and D may also dissappear.
I think I also see this on Windows + Firefox.
I think this occurs more when the feed has many articles.
Greying instead of deleting would make this less of a problem.

Also the scroll position is almost always wrong after mark older as read.

Do C and D have the same timestamp as B?

I also sometimes find that previous stories keep reappearing in bold even after several “mark previous as read” presses. The latest Android version hasn’t been the improvement I’d expected. It is not limited to particular does, and has re shown stories from the previous day.

Hello,

Wanted to open new bug, but since it’s 99% same issue, I’ll reply to this bug report.

Take for example feed from poslovni.hr website (http://www.poslovni.hr/feeds/najnovij…)
They are sometimes publishing news stories in bulk. You can see 5-10 stories with same time stamp in RSS. Same hours and minutes, not sure about seconds.

Anyway, if I tap and hold on any of those stories, and then press “Mark older as read” (or “Mark newer as read”) it will mark all stories with same timestamp as read. It doesn’t matter if that story is newer/older in timeline then one I marked.

This is long standing bug in Android app, can it be fixed and take into account same time stamp?
