MacOS app crash on launch

M2 MBP, MacOS 15.2, Newsblur 13.1.7

I have used the NB Mac app before, deleted it and now reinstalled after a while. When I launch the app, a window appears to be drawn and the app crashes immediately without message.

Any ideas on this?

@Dejal can we use the latest TestFlight build to capture this crash more easily?

One thing you could try is to delete the app data, as it may be damaged.

Paste each of these paths into the Finder’s Go ▸ Go to Folder… menu command to reveal them, then move them to the Trash:

  • /Users/dejal/Library/Containers/869A6A7B-0CF6-4A88-9B7D-63F13A17D7C4
  • /Users/dejal/Library/Group Containers/group.com.newsblur.NewsBlur-Group

Try opening NewsBlur after that, and see if it still crashes.

Yeah, I’d love to know if that fixes it, because there might be other users who have the same issue and I’d like to know if this is the cause.

That fixed it. Upon launch, after deleting both ~/Library/Containers/Newsblur and ~/Library/Group Containers/group.com.newsblur.NewsBlur-Group, I see the login screen.

I kinda got the vibe that it was a corrupt preference (or something similar), but didn’t know where to look.

p.s. long time subscriber here… definitely appreciate your time and efforts making and maintaining NB.
