When sharing an item using the bookmarklet it shows up in your own feed as unread. Since you shared it I am thinking it really should be marked as read. I am assuming it is doing this because it is not in a “feed” you are subscribed to but can bit a little annoying since you have to mark your own feed as read or find the item you shared.

Very good point. Just deployed a change that marks stories you share via the bookmarklet as read.
