It appears that NewsBlur does not shorten the URL when sending to Twiiter

I started posting directly to Twitter from NewsBlur. If I am not mistaken, the URL added to the tweet is not shortened, thus limiting my comments. Would it not make sense to add URL shortening? An alternative might be to support ITTT

Actually it’s a good thing that NewsBlur doesn’t shorten the URL. For one, a couple years back Twitter changed their API so that all URLs take the same amount of space: 24 characters. Second, if I did shorten the URL, you would lose the information of where the story is going. Shortened URLs are a lossy encoding for URLs.

Thanks for the reply. I didn’t know that all URLs take 24 characters. I can live with that.
