Issue with the news counter

Since early this morning (EDT), Newsblur no longer displays the number of new stories in the feed list, nor does it highlight feeds with new stories in bold. If I click on a feed where I know there are inevitably new stories (The Verge, for example), the new stories are there.

(Tested on web and MacOS app.)

I’m seeing this too, on Android (newsblur ver 13.9.0 & android 11) and desktop (win11 & chrome 141.0.7390.123).

Example: the Computerworld feed has 3 new stories but the counter is blank.

Edit: the counter will show correctly if I click on the feed, then refresh chrome.

same here for me - what ever browser or app I’m using the unread is not working :frowning:
I’m not getting to work at all.
edit: animaux1 you are correct - when i click on the feed and refresh the browser then unread counter is working. This is frustrating to click through all my streams to find what has not been read.

Same. Android and Web.

Seeing the same thing, some of the feeds show counts and if I click on unread and look at a feed there are new articles listed but no count of unread.

I’m having the same issue on the iOS apps. No feeds are updating and I have to manually tap each feed to see if there are any stories.

I’m having the same issue as well on Android

I believe this is the commit that did it but I don’t know why: Fix river cache deletion by ensuring consistent cache keys, Redis poo… · samuelclay/NewsBlur@c807688 · GitHub

It seems to only be that unread counts arent updating, but the stories are there?

Stories are there and some counts update too. When I saw this post yesterday I clicked around and I saw a couple feeds that had more items than their counter or that looked like the should have no items but did.

But it’s inconsistent, I have more unread items this morning than I had last night.

That’s my issue. Unread counts aren’t updating and I have to open each feed to see unread stories.

Correct.

I’m also seeing quite a few misbehaving sites with exclamation points that were working before this started happening.

Hopefully you will find solution for the issue soon.

I posted in this thread: Folder of feeds not refreshing - #8 by samuelclay

Should be fixed now and will slowly reenable disabled sites over the next day
