On a touchscreen device, using keyboard shortcuts or clicking that tiny border between the sidebar and story list isn’t practical. Is there a touchscreen friendly way to show/hide the sidebar?

I left in a little known feature. Try dragging up from the bottom bar in the story view. That will give you south-anchored story titles. That was supposed to be the default view, but we didn’t have time to fix the Next/Previous buttons to go on the bottom bar, so it was shelved.
