I’m using the iOS NewsBlur app, and The Verge and Polygon(and perhaps other) feeds are auto-playing video ads when I load up their articles in feed view. This is going to kill my phone’s data plan if I can’t stop it. Is there anything I can do?

Hmm, it’s obnoxious that they do this, but they are specifically asking for the videos to be auto-played. I’m not sure what I could do other than rewrite publisher feeds, and that’s something I am hesitant to do.

Fair enough. I’ll see if there’s a way to drop them a line about the issue.
I get wanting to keep ads in the feed, but auto-playing videos is a great way to get me to unsubscribe to them.
