In list view, add a right-click and “Mark all previous as read”. Use case: When I get behind in news, I often switch to ‘list’ view for some busier feeds and then I just scan through subjects. Partway through the scan, I’d like to mark my progress by marking all up to that point as read. This way if I’m interrupted while scanning, I can come back and pick up where I left off, vs. having to mentally remember where I was.

Yep, this has been proposed before. There’s a thread somewhere discussing it. It’s planned, but not for a little while.
