In the Daring Fireball JSON feed in NewsBlur, I’ve noticed that recent stories include an image. The items in the feed itself don’t mention an image. It looks like NewsBlur has pulled in an image from the page that the story links to. (In one case, the choice of image seems purely arbritrary, having little to do with the subject.)
If this, NewsBlur pulling in images, is a new feature, please let me turn it off.
agreed. i thought it might be related to this, if the limiting it to google news didn’t work right
You got it right @steanne, I was adding the image from the story. I saw a couple of the stories you were talking about on Daring Fireball, and you’re right. I dislike this change. I’m going to revert it back and make it specific only to Google News. I thought it’d be nice to at least try for a little bit and see how it looks, but it doesn’t seem like it’s the right call for anything but Google News.
This is now deployed. I think it will retroactively fix feeds that have the inadvertent image, so you should notice the fix immediately.
