Images in feeds from The Guardian appearing with giant icons

All feeds (in Text mode) with images from The Guardian appear with an enormous arrow icon (signifying “click to expand image” on their website) and a similarly giant “i” for information icon underneath the image.

I’ve noticed this on Android too.

I investigated a little further to find that the arrows and “i” that appear so large are svgs.

The Independent is doing it too. The one I looked at appears to be a regular img (png).  I suspect the style was not part of the Text extract.  (??)

Ah, I just saw it on https://lobste.rs/newest.rss as well.  The graphic that is large is an SVG as well.

This is still happening on every feed from the Guardian in text view. Any idea what’s causing it?
