I just lost 10 feeds

Hey!

Just a few minutes ago I lost about 10 of my feeds due to a bug. Here’s what I did:

  1. I saw that I had a directory named “Magic” with only one feed in it for a card game I used to play.
  2. I decided it would make more sense to have that directory be called “Games” instead so I renamed it.
  3. I then realized that I already had a directory called “Games” with some 10 odd feeds in it. I now had two directories called “Games”.
  4. I then renamed (the 1 feed) “Games” directory back to its old name “Magic” again. This renamed both “Games” directories. I now instead had two “Magic” directories.
  5. I then tried to move the lone feed in the small directory to the big directory. I believe this ended up with that feed now existing in both directories (but I’m a bit unsure if I remember correctly because I was now firmly in the “click-around-and-see-what-happens” mode).
  6. At this point I had a “Magic”-directory with 10 feeds and another “Magic” directory with 1 feed. I decided to delete the feed in the single-entry directory. I believe this resulted in that feed getting deleted from both directories but I’m not 100% sure.
  7. I still had two “Magic”-directories but at least one was empty. I was a little worried that if I now deleted the empty “Magic”-directory the big directory would be deleted as well. This would of course not be expected under normal conditions but given the bugs I’d already encountered I didn’t want to risk anything. So I started moving the feeds from the big “Magic”-directory to the Top Level directory. This worked for some feeds. Some of the feeds would just not move at all.
  8. At this point I gave up and thought I was just being paranoid. Of course if there’s two different directories deleting one won’t affect the other. So I deleted the empty directory and as you can probably guess gone were both my directories.

In the end this was in part my fault. When I first started seeing these bugs I should’ve realized that all bets were off, exported the OPML so I can go back if all fails and only then proceed.

With that said: are there an undo-button in NewsBlur? And does the above work as a bug report?

It seems that most of the feeds that I moved to the Top-Level directory were actually moved there but for some reason not visible within NewsBlur so I managed to snatch an OPML from my desktop feed reader and thus get back the URLs to my feeds and re-insert them again so my personal disaster is averted.
