It doesn’t seem to be in the chrome web store any more, but my favorite feature for google reader was the ‘google reader notifier’. Basically it’s just a small icon that goes to the right of the URL bar in chrome. If I have any unread items in my reader then it adds a little red number displaying how many unread things I have.
