FYI: Youtube embedded videos (not a NewsBlur problem)

This is NOT a problem with Newsblur but a YouTube change, posting here for info incase other people search for it.

This is not a problem as I came to report with embeded YouTube videos (whether from a site or a youtube feed) but then when I was doing some reading it is actually new change to the YouTube embedded player. See: https://www.androidauthority.com/youtube-embed-player-redesign-3652875/

I don’t use the mini player and just play videos in the feed (so it keeps my focus) vs clicking and opening in a new tab. I then sometimes press > (to increase the speed) or C for captions (if the video isn’t in English), and I’m sure other things like quality are now moved to the Gear icon at top right vs at the bottom, and (some) keyboard controls don’t work anymore. Can’t do that now with the new embedded player. Guess I’m gonna now be clicking and opening tabs.

As I said this is NOT a problem with Newsblur but a YouTube change.

If you provide me the URL of a feed that’s doing this, I might be able to look into it and see if I can get the native player working again.

It’s any Youtube embedded video, I just happen to use it on my feeds eg https://newsblur.com/site/7228645/ferrari

If you check out https://www.iclarified.com/100337/apple-drops-first-teaser-for-for-all-mankind-spinoff-star-city-video you will see it’s the same activity. It’s even doing it on my personal holiday blog / site that I haven’t touched in forever, so it’s the https://www.youtube.com/embed/ embedded thing thats changed.
