The feed https://www.durhamradionews.com/feed is no longer loading for me. I tried the “fix feed” panel and deleting and re-subscribing, but the error persists. The feed does load fine on another feed reader (last article appox 30 min ago). Please investigate.
Thanks,
Looked into this. Your feed loads fine from my laptop and from a browser, but every one of NewsBlur’s fetching servers gets its connection dropped at the TCP layer before a request can even be sent. The origin is silently blocking traffic from our hosting provider (Hetzner), which is why re-subscribing and the fix feed panel don’t help. This started around March 16, which matches when the feed last got stories for you.
The only fix is on the publisher’s side. If you want to nudge them, you can forward something like this to durhamradionews.com or their webmaster:
Hi, I subscribe to your RSS feed (https://www.durhamradionews.com/feed) through NewsBlur. Since mid March, NewsBlur hasn’t been able to reach the feed. I can load it fine in a browser, but NewsBlur’s servers get connection timeouts on both ports 80 and 443. It looks like a firewall rule at your hosting provider is blocking the Hetzner IP ranges that NewsBlur fetches from. Could you ask your host to allow traffic from Hetzner (AS24940)? NewsBlur uses a descriptive User-Agent (“NewsBlur Feed Fetcher”) so it should be easy to identify as a legitimate RSS reader. Thanks.
Once they whitelist us the feed will start updating again on its own, no action needed on your end.
Thanks for investigating and the suggested text. I have reached out to the site and if I hear anything interesting back I will post hear.
