feed list view compressed

On this (and the last few versions of the android client) the feed story list sometimes compresses, only using the left hand 2/3rds of the available width to display text

app version: 4.0.0.b4
android version: 4.4.4
device: LGE Nexus 5 (hammerhead)
memory: normal
speed: 175 in 362
