Feed for vice.com is slow as dirt on Chrome

The feed for vice.com is super-slow to display on chrome for Windows. Seems ok on Firefox.

I’m having the same issue with the Engadget RSS feed (http://www.engadget.com/rss.xml). Navigating through the feed is very slow. I tried Vice as well (http://www.vice.com/rss) like the OP, and had the same results.

I’m using Vivaldi browser (Chromium based). Checking the browser task manager shows me the Newsblur tab jumps to 100% CPU usage whenever I scroll the feed. Usage stays minimal for other feeds. Runs perfectly on Edge.

This is still occurring, and also noticed the Engadget feed browsing is equally slow and jittery on the Android Newsblur app.

Still happening. Engadget feed causes noticeable slowdown. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

No developer feedback on this is kinda upsetting. Been a premium user for years but I can’t even get a “we’ll look into this” or a “can’t reproduce” on a problem? Still slow/choppy experience scrolling through the Engadget feed, even though I’m using a 16-core Ryzen (not as bad as when I was using a 4-core when this issue was originally reported).
Seems Chromium related. Edge used to not have the issue, but now that it’s using Chromium I am seeing the slowdown on Edge as well.

Hi, the issue is that I can’t reproduce the issue. These feeds load fast for me. Can you post a full browser screenshot of the feed when it’s slow so I can see if it’s specific to how many stories are loaded or which view you’re in.

I’ve tried the feed at NewsBlur and it’s image and video heavy. Switch to the List view in the bottom right and that should help as then only a single story is loaded at a time. You can also turn on single story mode for any other view in the Style popover.
