Feature Request(s) - duplicate content, summary, popular content

Howdy! A couple of feature requests. Which I’d imagine likely would require the Premium+ due to needing access to full text and/or AI tools:

General use-case:

• Following many sources with quality intent, but not enough time (daily) to catch all of it

• Want a quick way to spot trending topics across my followed sources without manually checking each feed

• Ability to capture a summary of (combined) followed content

• Sort content quickly without having to open duplicate stories

1. What’s popular in my feeds

Highlight stories that show up across multiple feeds I already follow.
For example:

• Several feeds linking or referencing the same article, title, keywords.

Ability to determine quickly the ‘most popular’ content based on similar content.

2. De-duplicate the same stories

The same article or general content often shows up across multiple sources.

• Single entry, expandable to see all sources

• Based on title, URL, or content similarity (article title, keywords, referenced source)

Ability to remove duplicate content across followed feeds quickly.

3. Generate a digest (manual or scheduled)

Let me generate a “mini newsletter” from my feeds (i.e. automate summary of selected content to receive briefing of content)

• Pick feeds / folders / keywords

• Generate on demand, mid-day, or daily

This is a fantastic idea, and you’re in luck because I’m actually working on something that’s just like this called the Daily Briefing. I’m looking for various sections to add and allow you to choose which sections you want. I’m also even thinking about letting you customize the prompt that we use. I have various output formats, but customizing the prompt beyond that would be great.

There’s a section that is trending stories that you follow that have stories that are trending across NewsBlur stories you may have missed, various trends, and then other interests.

Well, that is slick - not surprised to see you we’re already on it

The customizable prompt would be interesting with the ability to have different styles of ‘agents’. i.e. personal focused, work focused, etc.

That’s an interesting thought to have custom sections. I did add custom sections, but what you’re suggesting is basically a transpose of this where instead of having sections in a daily briefing story, having individual feeds of those custom sections and having those be the stories. I’ll have to noodle on that, but I might ship it this way and see if it has any utility.
