Hello, I’m new to Newsblur. I noticed that when clicking into each feed item, the story briefly shows and then tries to fetch the story from the website, which in most cases is the wrong content. How do I disable the automatic website fetching? Thanks
Does selecting “Feed” from the “Feed” “Text” “Story” buttons at the bottom of the story fix the problem?
If so, you can change it for every site in the NewsBlur preferences.
When I open an item, it initially shows “Text” at the bottom. When I click that, it shows a different version of the content, but I’m not sure what it’s doing.
My intention is to not have Newsblur try to parse any of the RSS feed content from its website. The original feed content is fine, and this custom parsing it’s doing is actually causing the feed content to be worse.
I also checked the preferences on Android app and I don’t see any “Feed” vs “Text” vs “Story” option there.
You’re in the Text view. Switch to the Feed view for what’s in the RSS feed itself. The Text view extracts the original text from the website. On Android, the button is a single tap, so it shows what it’s switching to. So tap on it until you see the content you want.
I dont see “Feed”. The button toggles either “Text” and “Story”. Do I have to tap this button each time for every feed? Or is there some global way to apply it?
In other words, I never want it to fetch the website content for the feed. How do I set it to do this every time?
Are you using an app rather than the website to access NewsBlur? On iOS if the button reads “Text” rather than “Story” it means you’re viewing the feed, not the website.
Like I’ve mentioned before, I’m using the Android app.
Hello, not sure if any can help but I’ve stopped using the Android app and began using the web-site version and I’m still having this issue even on the web-version.
When I click on a feed item, it’s automatically fetching the website content instead of showing the content the exact content in the RSS feed. How do I disable this?
