It’s great that I can disable _some_ animations! Unfortunately the option doesn’t disable the arrow keys scroll animation.
That looks like an omission. Mouse wheel scroll: no animation. Page up/down: no animation. Arrow key to switch stories: no animation. But arrow keys to scroll still animate.
