Can't parse feed

I’ve been trying out NewsBlur and I really like it (better than any of the other Google Reader replacements that I’ve tried so far). However NB is unable to parse what I consider to be my most important feed:

Timeout
(505)

It’s just a simple WordPress site so I’m not sure what the issue is. It seems to work fine in other readers or from the command line.

This feed is so important to me that I will have to use something else if I can’t get it to work.

Unfortunately a 505 Timeout means that the feed is taking longer than 20s to fetch and parse. The average feed takes less than 0.4s to fetch and parse. You should contact them and ask them to trim the number of stories in their RSS feed down to something like 25.

They are also sending a ton of content:encoded data that’s bizarre and unnecessary.

I notified the publisher. As a workaround I tried to setup a Yahoo Pipe, but it couldn’t handle it either. Then I syndicated the feed through a Drupal site and stripped all but the last 2 months:
