I just signed up for the premium service, but so far am unable to import my RSS feeds from Google. Every time I try it just freezes, saying it is importing but never finishing. Thanks for your help,

Ditto. While my feeds do not show up on the web interface, they do show up for me in the mobile version on my tablet. At least most of them. Anything in a folder imported from Reader shows up. Feeds in the top level of Google Reader don’t seem to have made it over.
I chalk this up to the current overload. I imagine it will clear itself up once things settle back down to whatever turns out to be “normal”!
