Can't change email address due to username in use

I recently changed my email address on Newsblur. I’m trying to change it back to my original email address, but now no matter what I do it tells me the username is already in use. Even if I change the username to something totally random, it’s “In Use”.

The problem is I’m not even trying to change the username, JUST the email address. I suspect maybe it recognizes the email address as having been previously used, and that’s what’s actually blocking it…but either way, it’s frustrating not being able to update my email address.

Any suggestions?
