I tried adding a valid rss feed but it says “This address does not point to an RSS feed or a website with an RSS feed.”

use http instead of https
It worked, thanks! But is that something you can fix? Cuz using https shows up in my browser as a valid rss feed
i’m not a dev, just a mod, but i think it’s up to the site providing the feed to make it available. your web browser may be set to fall back to http when https doesn’t work.
