Awesome: NewsBlur's feed autodiscovery is smarter than Google Reader's

I’ve been noticing that if an arbitrary page has a feed behind it, dropping its URL into NewsBlur gives you that exact feed, whereas Google Reader often gives you something else it finds from the same domain. Props, Samuel.

I wrote it to be super aggressive. Unfortunately, that meant that sometimes when feeds would stall out (for various reasons), NewsBlur would proactively try to find the correct feed. This led to a number of specific feeds (a feed for only a single tag on a site) being rerouted to the general purpose feed because they timed out during a fetch.

This has since been rectified, but only recently. I’m glad you find the feed finder useful.
