Android: video played inline

YouTube videos are played inline and not in YouTube app, video can’t be maximized.

app version: 4.2.3
android version: 5.0.2

We are actively working on getting fullscreen support working for all HTML5 video, though the degree of success will depend on your device, unfortunately.

As for opening videos in the YT app, you should be able to tap on the video title.  Embed-style videos don’t trigger to the app like links to videos do, and that is up to the source feed.

Actually all links open inline, recently.
I remember links used to open in browser and videos used to launch the YouTube app.
Is there an option to retrieve that functionality?

The latest WebView update changed the default behaviour for how links are opened. It will be fixed in the next beta release.
