A few teething issues

I have a few problems with NewsBlur at the moment:

  1. QC RSS not showing latest story.
I have a subscription to http://www.questionablecontent.net/QC… and looking at the XML there is a story for today, but NewsBlur does not show it. It also reports 200 for all results and is up to date.

  2. Erroring sites not showing.
    I have a subscription to http://www.guildmag.com/feed/podcast/
    This has the following statuses:
    2013-03-15 02:53:33 HTTP Error (404)
    2013-03-15 02:52:16 SAX Exception (553)
    2013-03-15 02:52:16 Timeout (505)
    2013-03-15 02:51:54 HTTP Redirect (301)

But is not showing a red “no entry” next to the feed.

  1. Infrequent updates:
    I have a subscription to http://ericlippert.com/comments/feed/
This has the following update stats:
    Last Update: 19 hours ago
    Every: 3.5 to 4.5 hours
    Next Update: in 49 minutes
And this site has the following: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/bharry/rsscom…
    Last Update: 20 hours ago
    Every: 3.5 to 4.5 hours
    Next Update: in 6 hours

I expected that with premium membership I would never be waiting more than an hour (and hopefully less as per google reader) for an update.

Quite a few feeds have not been updated for a good few hours.

  1. Support for broken feeds:
My local paper: http://www.examiner.co.uk/news/local-… has some problems with their feeds from looking at the statuses on NewsBlur, but google reader has never failed to render the results. I’m not sure what it would take to fix, and I don’t expect you to support every bad feed in existence :).

Sorry if this sounds like nagging, but it’s the little things that bug me

I still enjoy it and still happy I switched, but I am keeping google reader until I’m happy I’m not missing any news

Quick update after 24hrs.
Some feeds have not updated since yesterday and I had to “Insta Fetch” them.

Also, I have 13 unread feeds in http://ericlippert.com/comments/feed/ but it will only show me 3 stories.

Update, everything seems better now, please ignore this thread and keep up the great work.

Cheers,
Dave
