Webfeed not showing new articles in Reeder

I’m seeing a bit of weirdness with the subscribe-to-website feature.

I subscribed to webfeed:https://www.memoryexpress.com/ scoped to the “Daily Deals” section, so I expect to see a new “article” daily.

I primarily use Newsblur from Reeder on iOS, but the articles don’t show up unless I first access the folder in Newsblur (testing via the web), but at that point it does backfill the articles I missed, so I do think it is scanning/updating daily as the site only displays one deal at a time.

I am testing a couple other web feeds, but I don’t yet know if it is limited to this one feed/site or not, as the posting patterns are fairly irregular for the other webfeed sources I am testing.

That’s strange as a webfeed is treated identically to a normal feed, except on the backend where fetching occurs. I don’t know what the mechanism for Reeder to do anything differently.

It’s not limited to Reeder, it happens in the Newsblur web interface too.

I was looking at my list thinking it has been a couple days, so I switched my view to All, and refreshed for good measure, but no new articles.

Then I clicked on it, and two articles showed up.

One is still on the backing website, but the other is gone, so it did query but the new items aren’t immediately visible. I also checked Reeder, the items are not there at all until the web UI loads them.
