There seems to be a group of nine “marketing consultants” that are spamming shares to GeekyGet in order to get promoted to Popular. Time for an overhaul of the selection algorithm?
At least the latest attempt only seems to have promoted one out of three ads. Zero ads would be nice.

So I swept them up in my daily spam finder, but you’re right that I need to do a better job of de-spamming. It looks like it’s just one person, since all of the accounts have identical activity.
I removed the story, and I also added an auto-delete before sharing popular stories. I’ll update the deleter as spammers come in.
