Stories Previously Trained to not Appear Still Show in News Feed

I’m having an issue with stories previously trained to be hidden appearing in my news feed.

Today a Lifehacker story titled “This Week’s Top Downloads” appeared in my feed. I thought I had previously trained it to be hidden. When I clicked on the TRAIN THIS STORY button, the pop-up window showed the story title already highlighted in red. The story had, in fact, been previously trained, but the training didn’t work.

I’ve experienced other instances of trained stories not behaving as they should. Any advice on how this might be overcome would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks…

Lew

How are you getting to the story? Are you opening it in the feed or as part of the river? Also, Lifehacker was a broken feed that may have removed the training check.

Try this: train anything in the lifehacker feed. It doesn’t matter what it is, but it flips the training bit on your subscription. That should fix it. If it does, let me know and I’ll flip the bit on everybody’s Lifehacker. It’s Lifehacker specific, I’m happy to say.

The term “river” is new to me. To answer your question, I scroll through stories on the right third of the Newsblur window. See below…

I click on the TRAIN THIS STORY button within the story to train.

As you instructed, I trained a new Lifehacker story…see below…

Thanks for your help with this.
