I would love to have the option to show all stories but with all unread stories at the top, so I don’t have to “find” them in the list.

Two options: use the ‘n’ keyboard shortcut to skip to the next unread story (works the same as the button that says “Next Unread”). Otherwise, switch to Unread Only view.
