how do i save a story in the android app, i know that i can from the website but can’t find it in the app

Answere: Open an RSS item with the Android device. Open the menu (menu button on the device, or sometimes a “…” button on the screen). Select “Save this story”.
Bonus Info: Bear in mind you are not able to read saved stories in the current version of the Android app. From what I understand the feature is on the docket for a future release. Until then, if you want to read stories you save, I recommend getting an account with “Pocket” (formerly called “Read It Later”). To send an RSS item from Newsblur to Pocket, open the same menu and select “Send to…”. This will bring up a screen with different apps you can send the news article to. Select Pocket. It makes the text very readable.
