Reduce network usage

In the android app inside the option maximum cache age there are 4 options, 2 days (reduce storage use and 30 days (reduce network usage).
How does the 30 days option reduce network usage?
If the same images/texts are found in the storage then they are not downloaded saving network usage?

I would guess that by having more cache there is less risk that you need to “re-download” the articles. If you read everything within the two days and never go further back I expect the bandwidth usage to be the same.

Thank you. Yes you are probably right, this option reduce network usage because the app won’t need to load old feeds… This option is only good if you want to see an old feed
