Possible double-billing issue

Hi,

Something may have gone amiss with my premium renewal. I received a notification in Newsblur that the credit card I had on file failed for the subscription renewal. My bank tends to reject most card purchases these days due to online fraud.

So I went to the account management/payment part of Newsblur and paid for the re-up manually, using ApplePay. I received the $142 (AUD) charge to my bank, as expected.

However, according to the Newsblur/Stripe interface, this was just for the next year (until 2027), but I no longer had a “subscription” enabled. There was a link to re-enable the ongoing subscription, and, perhaps foolishly, I clicked on that. It needed a payment instrument to link against, which is normal, so, again, I said ApplePay.

And I was immediately charged another $142.

So, according to my bank at least, I’ve just paid twice in a row.

I wasn’t sure if one of those would vanish, but, given the context, I’m worried it won’t.

Thanks!

Confirmed and refunded. The manual Apple Pay payment renewed your existing subscription through May 2027, and the “re-enable subscription” link two minutes later started a second sub and charged you again. I refunded that duplicate $99 and cancelled the extra subscription. Refund should land in 5-10 business days. You’re paid through May 2, 2027. Thanks for subscribing!
