Sam, the guy who basically single-handedly created and runs this show, got as much notice about Reader shutting down as you all did: None.
Actually, everyone is getting tons of notice (months) about Google Reader shutting down. What alternatives didn’t get is prior notice about the notice.
In any case, people need to chill out, as there’s plenty of time to consider the options after the alternatives stabilize at much higher usage levels.
