I chose to become a premium customer because the site and features all worked so well. That was until recently. Lately, on the “All Site Stories”, stories load very slowly or not at all. When I go to the “Read Stories”, they appear fast and normally, like they used to on the “All Site Stories”. I’ve removed my cookies a few times and it wasn’t clear if it helped at all.
What’s your username, I can take a look.
I checked your account and it looks good. If it happens again, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I can figure out what’s going on. I bet it’s a story with something that’s breaking the front-end.
Although from your latest tweet it seems I’ve lost you to a competitor. But the offer stands, just LMK next time it happens and I’ll get it fixed.
It happens all the time. It’s happening now. It’s pretty consistent over the past month or two. I get the “fetching” progress at the bottom then sometimes i’ll get an error. Several different types of “proxy” errors, something like “HTTP over HTTPS” error, sometimes no error, and either the article will be badly formatted or nothing appears. When I don’t see the fetching message, it seems to mean the article will be fine.
I’m not opposed to sticking with newsblur. i actually prefer newsblur’s shortcut keys and that’s a huge part of my reading experience. but the articles appearing are, of course, the top priority. If we can nail down this problem, i might well return.
I bet your browser has a misbehaving browser extension. Which browser extensions do you run? Are any of them ad blockers (which rewrite the page in nefarious ways).
BTW, it doesn’t appear to be cookies nor extensions. I’m using Chrome (fully patched) on MacOS (fully patched el capitan). I opened in an incognito window with no extensions and the same issue occurs.
I wonder if this started when i switched to using HTTPS? I don’t remember the timing but it seems like i remember doing that recently.
I wonder if there might be two issues. So the fetching seems to have stopped when i switch back to non-secure mode. Rendering issues seem to have gone away. The errors i mentioned above no longer appear. But there are still plenty of articles that never appear.
Can you check the developer console? Does it show any error messages or timeouts?
No, i tested in an incognito window with no extensions. Same problem.

Refused to display '[https://www.reddit.com/r/golang/comments/4tv527/mailchimpgo\_go\_client\_for\_the\_mailchimp\_api\_v3/](https://www.reddit.com/r/golang/comments/4tv527/mailchimpgo_go_client_for_the_mailchimp_api_v3/)' in a frame because it set 'X-Frame-Options' to 'SAMEORIGIN'.
No error in the console seems to always be the reason content doesn’t display
Can you post a full browser screenshot of what you see when it doesn’t load? I wonder if there’s some training that’s hiding the stories.
Here’s another example. In the “All Site Stories” this story doesn’t load.
I can immediately switch to “Read Stories” and all is fine.
I’m now get another problem (https):
Error parsing headers: ‘limit request headers fields size’
And in the newsblur status bar:
IMPERFECT PROXY DUE
TO HTTP OVER HTTPS
But reading the same article in inoreader (http) has no problems.
Are you sure you didn’t change something with the UI handling of articles in the past few months? It was fantastic when I first paid for the premium account.
Ah-ha, it looks like you’re using Story view. The problem is that you are on https when accessing NewsBlur. Switch to http-only (and turn off SSL-only in your NewsBlur preferences). That will load the Story view.
