I think you’ll like the changes I’ve got coming for full screen. I’ve refined it so that there’s a full screen icon you can hit and switch back and forth easily, while opening a new feed/folder preserves your original full screen / 2/3 column preference, so if you switch temporarily between full screen and not (to see the story titles), the preference brings you back to the expected pane setup.
Hey @samuelclay, I’m just getting back to this. I have updated NewsBlur on my iPad but I’m not seeing the Full Screen icon that you mentioned above. In the screenshot below, I’m in Auto mode.
Ahh, I didn’t build the full screen icon in the Auto mode, but I like that idea and will get that in the next version.
Okay, I built the full screen override button, and you’ll see it in the top right in auto mode, two-column mode, and three-column mode. You can temporarily switch back and forth between the columns and the full screen view. Expect it in the next week.
Awesome!
BTW - when I tried 2-column mode, I do not see the Full Screen icon at all. And in 3-column mode, it’s broken… tapping the Full Screen icon pushes the left-most column off screen to become a 2-column layout but the Feed column is blank, the Full Screen icon disappears, and the Home icon (upper left) is non-responsive and I have to restart the app to get back to my feeds.
I have a screen recording if you want me to send it to you (can’t post it here)
@samuelclay I just tried the latest update and it works as expected in Auto Mode
I also tried it 2-Column Mode and it looks good there too. Thanks for the quick fix!
Yeah, I wouldn’t say that was a quick fix. That took a few days of finagling, but I finally got it working exactly how I like it. Glad it’s working for you, and I’m glad that together we made it work to the highest standard.
I don’t know how I missed your reply. By “quick fix” I certainly didn’t mean to imply that it was easy or trivial. I just appreciate the quick response here, and relatively fast turnaround considering all that you must be working on. Kinda reminded me of my younger days leading QA for a smallish team of developers and being able to interact directly with them and see fast turnaround for issues.
