Newsblur AndroidApp not starting at all - closes after login

I changed to a new mobile phone (Honor View 20; PCT-L29) with Android 9. When I start the Newsblur app I get the login screen and after entering username and passwort and pushing the log in button, the app just closes.

I already tried to deinstall and reinstall the app with no effect. I also opted out from the beta program and installed the official version 8.0.0.

Are you able to login on the web? What’s your username?

Yes I can login. It even works on this phone using firefox. But I can’t login with the the Newsblur App.
My Username is: NewSven

Any idea what the problem could be? Anything I could try to give additional hints?
