Missing Feeds

A few of my feeds have disappeared in the past few days. I noticed it first with Ars Technica and Slashdot, and re-added them. Now I see that Penny Arcarde has dropped off too. I keep enough comics around (some with sporadic update schedules) that I don’t really know what else I might have lost recently.

account username is actually uvayankee (don’t know why it came up with an extra “1” here)

Same problem here. Penny arcade disappeared sometime between the 20th and 23rd and I didn’t notice it. I don’t know how many other feeds have vanished without me realizing it. We need some way for any sort of deduplication on the feeds to notify us (Perhaps by sending us an OPML like it does when we manually delete feeds) when it’s deleting feeds off our accounts so we can add the correct ones.

I just so happen to have a copy of my opml from manually deleting a feed last month. I don’t think I’ve made additions since, so I’m going to use it as a comparison. There’s still some underlying issue, but at least this will get me back up and running quickly.

Hi, this problem recurred today with SMBC. I’ve not seen any update on it, but it’s the sort of thing that’s very concerning. I love everything about the NewsBlur interface, but if I can’t trust it to keep my feeds, it’s not terribly useful.

Smbc looks good to me: http://www.newsblur.com/site/785/satu…

Once I added it back, it was fine, but between Sunday and Monday it disappeared from my list. Just this morning when I logged on, my number of sites said 55 when the page loaded, but then changed to 54, making me think that I might have just lost another one.

Ars Technica just dropped out from my feed list in the past hour or so. I re-added it but lost all the stories I had kept unread. Pretty disappointing.

I also subscribe to Ars, but I didn’t lose it today. I did some poking around, and I am subscribed to: [http://feeds.arstechnica.com/arstechn… ], which appears to only have about 1000 subscribers, despite being the promoted URL on Ars itself.

[http://feeds.arstechnica.com/arstechn… ], has nearly 9,000.

I reviewed an old OPML file from April 2016, and I was subscribed to the same sbmc feed that I am now, [http://www.smbc-comics.com/rss.php ], however, it disappeared, and when I resubscribed, it had lost my training (which wasn’t extensive).

Also got my Ars feed switched, and lost all my unread stories. Infuriating.

Another one affected by this. Lost Ars, SMBC, and not sure what else. Total site count dropped from 301 to 285 sites overnight without my intervention…

My count just dropped from 185 to 184.  This is definitely about more that SMBC and Ars.  The concern for me is that I don’t know what I’m missing.

Not that it helps now with what’s already disappeared, but you can click on “Preferences” from the right-hand sidebar on the main page, scroll to the bottom, and hit “Download OPML” so you’ll have a backup if anything else disappears.

If anyone has an old OPML from before they lost sites, posting it would probably be helpful.
