Mark single item as Read without opening it.

When I am looking at a list of items in a feed, I can right-click the title to select to Open, Save, Share, Email, Share etc.

If it is already read, I can also select to mark it as unread. But, if it is unread, I cannot select to mark it as read.

Often, by the title alone, I can tell I am not interested in a particular post. I don’t need to wait for it to open.

One of the items on the right-click menu should be to mark a single (unread) item as read.

Now with the Grid Layout, I’d like to bump this idea up.

Opening and closing stories just to mark them as read to skip them can be slow and jumpy.

A toggle/checkbox on the grid cell would be awesome, but even just a menu item like “Mark As Read” in the dropdown would be great.

You’re right, this should exist. Just added a ‘Mark as read’ option to the story title drop down menu. Here’s the commit: https://github.com/samuelclay/NewsBlur/commit/d9ac6ddd05c6b77c32c471d10d24c3e76ed859f8
