Keyboard shortcuts overpowered by shortcuts used by rss feeds (Slashdot)

I have trouble navigating with n/j/k, etc. because Slashdot’s commenting system seems to use similar keyboard shortcuts, so when I get to a slashdot RSS item, I have to manually click past it (rather than hitting ‘n’).

Anyway to block the comments entirely or prevent this from happening?

Just use the Feed view.

I am using the Feed view. It only happens on Slashdot (which has comments shown). See the attached screenshot for an example (this is from the most recent occurrence).

I don’t have any strange extensions installed in Chrome (just Lastpass and Google Voice), either.

Any ideas? Could it have something to do with being a free user (this is one of the last things preventing me from upgrading, in fact)?
