Is there a limit of 100 unread items per feed?

I have just started noticing this behavior. Please reassure me that this is not yet another undocumented “feature” which causes loss of information.

It depends on the feed. It’s 500 for most feeds, but some single subscriber feeds are cut off at a lower tier.

I’m seeing this happen for feeds with as many as 8 subscribers.

I’m also curious why the number of subscribers would matter. When there are lots of subscribers, is there not a higher cost compared to one-off feeds? I understand how a feed’s popularity should matter for, say, crawler frequency, but not for unread limits.

Still curious whether you read my earlier comment.

Also, any chance we could get the UI to inform us what a given feed’s limit is? (At the very least, I assume the algorithm is somewhere on github?)
